Driver Gets 6th DWI

On July 5, 2016 around 7:30 p.m., a Deputy working an overtime grant spotted a vehicle travelling above the posted speed limit on East State Farm Road. The Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle but it sped up and attempted to out run the Deputy. The Deputy pursued the vehicle with lights and sirens to the intersection of East State Farm Road and Old Highway 83. At the intersection the vehicle attempted to turn south on Old Highway 83 and slid off the road into the ditch.

The Deputy arrested the lone male driver and he was identified as thirty-one year old Wellfleet, NE. resident Beau Greenwood. Mr. Greenwood showed signs of minor injuries from the accident and was transported to Great Plains Health for examination. In Mr. Greenwood’s vehicle Deputies located open containers of Alcoholic Beverage and three dogs. One of the dogs was injured from the accident, but only slightly.

Mr. Greenwood was examined and was found fit for confinement in the Detention Center. Mr. Greenwood was asked to provide a chemical sample to determine his blood alcohol level, he refused.

Mr. Greenwood was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center and incarcerated. He was charged with Felony Flight to Avoid Arrest, Felony Driving Under Suspension, Felony Driving Under the Influence (6th Offense) and Felony Refusal of a Chemical Test. The case is still under investigation and more charges are pending.
