Attempted Theft Lands Iowa Women in Jail

On August 29, 2017 around 4:00 p.m., a resident of Sutherland, NE. called to advise a female just attempted to steal her car. While Deputies were responding to the location the victim advised the female had fled the scene on foot. The victim followed the female eventually to a local store.

Deputies arrived and detained the female while they conducted the investigation. Deputies identified the female as forty-two year old Lisa Lauder of Des Moines, IA. Ms. Lauder advised she was not from the area and was left in town by her boyfriend. Ms. Lauder indicated she was just trying to get home.

Ms. Lauder was arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center. Ms. Lauder was charged with Attempted Theft by Taking.
