Four Subjects Arrested for Theft

On November 20, 2017a Deputy was asked to respond to a new home construction site near Lake Maloney. The Deputy met with the home builder and found subjects entered the home under construction and removed several thousand dollars in tools. The alert Deputy conducted a canvas of the area around the job site and neighborhood. The Deputy discovered a wallet that did not belong to anyone in the area.

Sheriff’s Office Investigators contacted the owner of the wallet and spoke with him at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Upon conclusion of the interview they arrested the owner of the wallet who was identified as twenty-nine year old Andrew Boggs of North Platte. Mr. Boggs was incarcerated for Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property.

Investigators then contacted twenty four year old Marcus Bailey of North Platte, NE., a friend of Mr. Boggs. Mr. Bailey was interviewed, arrested and incarcerated for Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property. A search warrant was issued for Mr. Bailey’s home in the 1000 block of West Third Street. Deputies recovered numerous items stolen from the Lake Maloney construction site. Also discovered was several thousand dollars in various other construction tools. A substantial amount of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia was found in the residence, Deputies later charged Mr. Bailey with Possession of Controlled Substance.

On November 21, 2017, Deputies arrested and incarcerated thirty year old Eric Davaney in connection with the above incident. Mr. Devaney was working for the same Lake Maloney construction site that was previously burglarized. Mr. Devaney was charged with Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property.

During the afternoon hours of November 21, 2017, Investigators spoke with twenty nine year old Bill Cheever Jr. at a residence on North Buffalo in North Platte, NE. Mr. Cheever was arrested and incarcerated for Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Stolen Property. Deputies discovered more of the tools stolen from the Lake Maloney theft site. The investigation into this matter continues.
