Deputies Arrest Three for Hershey Crime Spree

On April 5, 2017 around 7:00 p.m., a resident on North Sand Road (north of Hershey, NE.) advised suspicious subjects were at or near their home earlier in the day. Deputies met with the resident and their closest neighbors. Deputies confirmed two individuals were in the area and they had possibly entered a home.

Through extensive investigation, Deputies determined the two subjects were twenty-two year old Zachary Mendenhall of North Platte and twenty-one year old Austin Myers of North Platte. Deputies were able to contact Mr. Mendenhall and Mr. Myers. They were eventually arrested for Trespassing and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary as it was suspected they did enter the home. Both were placed in the Lincoln County Detention Center.

On April 6, 2017, Deputies continued to investigate crimes the two subjects may be associated with. Deputies learned that Mr. Mendenhall and another subject twenty-one Anthony Marquez of North Platte had allegedly stolen several car stereos and other items out of cars around the Hershey area in the last couple of weeks. Deputies were able to recover the stolen items from a location in North Platte, NE. Mr. Mendenhall was charged with several counts of theft. Mr. Marquez was arrested and incarcerated in the Detention Center for several counts of Theft, Criminal Mischief and Trespassing. The investigation in continues.
