DUI Grant Numbers

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has concluded a Nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over high visibility enforcement campaign. The $8,000 grant was provided by the Nebraska Department of Highway Safety to place more Deputies on the Road August 21st through September 7th to help reduced traffic related fatalities in Lincoln County.

During the grant Deputies conducted one hundred forty-eight traffic stops and twenty-three motorist assist. The stops resulted in four drivers being arrested for Driving Under the Influence, eleven fugitives being arrested, nine felony arrests, six arrests for possession of methamphetamines, the recovery of a stolen vehicle and stolen firearm.

Additionally twenty-seven speeding citations were issued as well as three citations for driving under suspension, two citations for minor in possession of alcohol, three citations for possession of marijuana, one citation for open container, five citations for no proof of insurance, three citations for no operator’s license, one citation for leaving the scene of an accident and six citations for possession of drug paraphernalia.
