Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Totals
On January 1st, The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office concluded a nationwide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign thanks in part to a grant provided by the Nebraska Department of Highway Safety.
During the grant period, which ran from December 18, 2020 to January 1, 2021, Deputies conducted 227 traffic stops and seven motorist assists. Deputies arrested eight drivers for: Driving Under the Influence. Other offenses Deputies arrested drivers for; Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Obstructing an Officer, Assault on an Officer, Assault on an Officer with Body Fluids, Carrying a Concealed Firearm, Resisting Arrest and six arrests for Lincoln County Warrants
Deputies issued citations for the following offenses; six Minor in Possession of Alcohol, forty-six speeding citations, five of which were over 100 miles per hour and nearly half for drivers traveling 20 miles per hour or faster over the speed limit. Additional citations written for: Exhibition of Acceleration, Reckless Driving, Driving Under Suspension, Open Containers of Alcohol, Possession of Marijuana Less than an Ounce, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Expired Registration, No Insurance and No Valid Driver’s License.
