Hooker County Sex Offenders Arrested

On May 25, 2016, Investigators from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office met with the Thomas County Sheriff Gary Eng. Sheriff Eng advised he had a warrant for thirty-six year old Hooker County (Mullen) resident Bobby J. Ansley for Failure to Comply with the Sex Offender Registry. Sheriff Eng believed Mr. Ansley was now working in North Platte area, but still living in Hooker County.

Lincoln County Investigators found Mr. Ansley was working in North Platte and had not registered his activity in Lincoln County. Investigators made contact with Mr. Ansley and arrested him on the Thomas County warrant. Investigators additionally arrested him for Fail to Register as a Sex Offender in Lincoln County.

While investigating this matter Lincoln County Investigators learned that Mr. Ansley’s friend and roommate from Hooker County was also a registered sex offender. They discovered the friend was also working in North Platte. The subject was identified as forty-four year old Hooker County resident Steven J. Avera. Mr. Avera was also arrested for Fail to Register as a Sex Offender. Both subjects were placed in the Lincoln County Detention Center. The investigation continues and additional charges may follow.
