Hershey Shooting
On July 11, 2017 at 1:56 p.m., Deputies were asked to respond to East 2nd Street in Hershey, NE. The Lincoln County 911 Center received a report of a disturbance, that a female had a gunshot wound to the hand. It was also reported a male subject was shot and believed to be deceased.
Deputies arrived and secured the residence. Deputies located a male subject in the living room of the residence that was deceased. A female was located outside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound to her hand. Hershey First Responders and Sutherland Rescue arrived and provided treatment to the female. The female was transported to Great Plains Health for additional treatment.
Preliminary investigation revealed a young couple had an argument earlier in the morning at another location. The young female went to her mother’s house in Hershey for the morning and up until today’s incident.
Today around 1:55 p.m. the young male subject came over and wanted to see his female partner, while in possession of a handgun. A struggle occurred with the mother’s boyfriend and the mother. The young male pulled a handgun and shot his girlfriend’s mother in the hand. All subjects attempted to flee the residence; the male subject shot himself and died from his injuries. The investigation is ongoing, names are being held at this time.
