Homeless Man Arrested on Numerous Charges
On September 4, 2017 at 12:10 a.m., a Deputy observed a vehicle traveling in excess the posted speed limit on Newberry Access, just east of North Platte. The Deputy stopped the vehicle and met with the thirty-one year old homeless driver Ryan Horan. The Deputy checked Mr. Horan for warrants and found he had a Lincoln County Warrant for Probation Violation. While arresting Mr. Horan the Deputy discovered a large fix-blade knife on his side.
The Deputy continued to investigate the vehicle and a bicycle that was located on top of the car. The vehicle was a 1997 Dodge Aries and had out of county license plates. After some checking it was discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Lincoln, NE. At the time the owner did not know it was missing. Additional checking the Deputy learned the bicycle was reported stolen by the Lincoln Police Department on the previous day. A search of the vehicle produced numerous tools commonly used to assist in thefts.
Mr. Horan was incarcerated in the Lincoln County Detention Center for; Possession of a Concealed Weapon by a Prohibited Person, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Stolen Property and the Probation Warrant.
