Traffic Stop Leads to Three Arrests

On December 19, 2017 at 7:25 p.m., A Deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on North Lake Road, by Lake Maloney. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop and met with the three occupants of the vehicle. The Deputy immediately smelled the odor of burnt Marijuana and informed the subjects he was searching the vehicle.

During the search of the vehicle the Deputy located a small amount of suspected Marijuana, four prescription bottles not belonging to the occupants, five Visa cards that did not belong to the occupants, multiple bottles of alcohol and a large caliber semi-automatic handgun. The Deputy checked the gun and found it was reported to be stolen from North Platte, NE within the last few days.
The Deputy arrested the subjects and they were transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center. All three of the suspects were from North Platte, NE., they were identified as; Eighteen year old Jareb Huerta, eighteen year old Jeremiah McEntire, and a seventeen year old juvenile male.

Mr. McEntire was charged with Possession of a Stolen Firearms, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during a Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of Stolen Property and several other charges. Mr. Huerta was charged with Accessory to a Felony two counts and Minor in Possession of Alcohol. The Juvenile was incarcerated the following day for; Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, Two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Financial Transaction Device with two or more accounts, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Five Counts of Possession of Stolen Property.

On the following day Deputies contacted the North Platte Police Department and found that most of the stolen items were taken out of vehicles in North Platte. Deputies will continue to work with North Platte Investigators on this case. Investigation continues.
