North Platte Man Jailed for Theft

On July 28, 2018 around 6:30 a.m., a citizen called the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office to report suspicious activity. The citizen said he met with a male subject on East Grunden Road who was apparently lost riding a side by side UTV. The citizen advised the male subject appeared drunk or high on something. The male subject was identified as twenty-one year old North Platte resident Alexander Fourtner.

After a brief discussion with the citizen Mr. Fourtner advised the UTV he was driving was stolen, but he did not know from where. The citizen took Mr. Fourtner to the Frontier County Sheriff’s Office as it was closer than Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Frontier County Deputies checked Mr. Fourtner for wants and warrants and found he had a Lincoln County Warrant for drugs. Mr. Fourtner was detained.

Lincoln County Deputies recovered the UTV and found it was a 2009 Yamaha Rhino valued at $5,370.00. Deputies eventually were able to find the rightful owner, it was returned to him. Lincoln County Deputies arrested Mr. Fourtner on the warrant and added a new charge of Theft by Unlawful Taking (2nd Offense) a Class IIA Felony. Mr. Fourtner was placed in the Lincoln County Detention Center.
