Injury Accident

On October 14, 2020 at 2:15 p.m., the Lincoln County 911 Center received a report of two vehicle injury accident in the 6500 block of South Buffalo Road (southwest of North Platte, NE.). Deputies and North Platte Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.

Preliminary investigation showed a large straight truck was heading southbound on Buffalo Road and stopped for a southbound car turning into a private drive. Another southbound pickup pulling a large dump trailer did not see the straight truck was stopped and struck it in the rear. Neither vehicle made contact with the turning car.

The driver of the pickup was trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed by rescue workers. The pickup driver was taken to Great Plains Health with life threatening injuries. The driver of the straight truck had no obvious injuries. Drugs and Alcohol were not suspected. The names of the drivers are being withheld at this time.
