Deputy Sheriff Opening

The Lincoln County Sheriff is taking applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff. This position has salary range of $23.33 – $28.96 per hour depending on experience. The pay range will increase in August of 2023, the amount is yet to be determined. A generous benefit package to include a two-week paid vacation, paid sick leave, longevity pay, uniforms, health insurance and retirement.

For Certified Nebraska Law Enforcement the starting pay will be substantially more than starting base pay. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will provide a $15,000 hire on bonus for certified officers. Half will be paid after the completion of our twelve-week Field Training Program the other half to be paid once the employee is off one year probation period. Additionally, certified officers will receive 40 hours of vacation and 40 hours of sick leave upon hire.

The deadline for receiving applications is January 16, 2023. The Lincoln County Merit Commission written and oral testing will commence at 8:00 a.m. on January 18, 2023 at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
