Local Law Enforcement Conducts Sex Offender Compliance Check

On February 7, 2023, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the North Platte Police Department with funding from the U.S. Marshal’s Service, initiated a compliance operation of all Sex Offenders within Lincoln County. Initially, twelve two person teams made up of Sheriff’s Deputies and North Platte Police Officers responded to around ninety residences in North Platte, NE. Additionally, Sheriff’s Deputies will continue in-home visits to every residence in Lincoln County a Sex Offender is reported to live.

The goal of the operation is to assure all Sex Offenders in Lincoln County are providing accurate and up to date information. Intentional acts of non-compliance have led to one arrest and several others are currently under investigation. Also at least ten Sex Offenders were ordered to immediately update minor information or be arrested, all complied.
