Click It or Ticket Grant Begins

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign that will run from November 16th to November 29th thanks in part to a $5,000.00 grant provided by the Nebraska Department of Highway Safety. More Deputies will be on the Roadways during this time enforcing seat belt and child safety seat usage to reduce the risk of serious or fatal traffic collisions in Lincoln County.

The most effective way to reduce traffic crash injuries, the severity of injuries and to save lives is to have all drivers and passengers buckled up in every vehicle. Last year, 125 of the 197 fatally injured passenger vehicle occupants were not wearing seat belts. Nebraska seat belt usage rate has increased to over 80% but is below the national average of 90.7%.
