Grant Results

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office completed the “National Click It or Ticket” enforcement campaign that ran from November 16 through 29, 2020 thanks to a five thousand dollar grant provided by the Nebraska Department of Highway Safety. During the grant period Deputies conducted one hundred-forty traffic stops and seventeen motorist assists.

Deputies issued citations for the following offenses; thirty-five for speeding, five for no registration, three for no proof of insurance, two for no seatbelt, one for exhibition of acceleration and one for no operator’s license.

Additional citations were issued for; seven for possession of marijuana, six for possession of drug paraphernalia, three for possession of a controlled substance and one for leaving the scene of an accident. One driver was arrested for driving under the influence and driving under suspension. Also two subjects were arrested for possession an illegal firearm and carrying a concealed weapon as well as drug charges. Finally Deputies arrested four subjects on outstanding warrants. This was a very successful enforcement campaign and clearly the extra patrol made the area safer for everyone.
