Kearney Man Arrested for Multiple Charges

On January 28, 2018 at 00:20 a.m., Deputies responded to a Disturbance on East Second Street in Hershey, NE. Upon arrival Deputies were told by a female victim her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her. The female victim advised the boyfriend had punched her several times in the head and stole her sister’s car.

A Nebraska State Trooper observed the vehicle in the area of Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 83 in North Platte, NE. The State Trooper stopped the car and the driver was identified as forty year old Christopher Hines of Kearney, NE. Mr. Hines was also identified as the subject that assaulted the female victim.

Deputies suspected Mr. Hines was under the influence of alcohol and attempted to have Mr. Hines complete field sobriety maneuvers. Mr. Hines became very uncooperative and was arrested.

Mr. Hines was transported to the Lincoln County Detention Center for a breath test and he refused. Mr. Hines was incarcerated on multiple charges including; Felony Theft, Felony Driving Under the Influence 5th Offense, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, Felony Third Degree Assault Domestic Violence and Possession of Marijuana.
