Father Jailed for Child Abuse

On August 13, 2022, at 12:33 p.m., the Lincoln County 911 Center received a report of suspicious activity at Kansas Point State Recreation Area, located at Lake Maloney, south of North Platte, NE. A caretaker reported a seven-month-old infant in her care had what the caller believed to be suspicious bruising. The caretaker was watching the child while its mother and father were working.

Deputies arrived on the scene and examined the infant who had bruising to his face and other areas. The infant was taken to Great Plains Health at North Platte for examination. After examination of the infant, he was placed into the care of Health and Human Services.

On August 16, 2022, Investigators interviewed the infant’s mother and father at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. They were identified as twenty-six-year-old Kyle Tatlow and thirty-three-year-old Trisha Tatlow, reportedly homeless. Mr. Tatlow was eventually placed in the Lincoln County Detention Center for Felony Child Abuse, for allegedly biting the infant. Ms. Tatlow was issued a citation for Misdemeanor Child Abuse and False Reporting. The investigation into this matter continues.
