Click it or Ticket Results

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office concluded its participation in the National Click It or Ticket campaign that ran from May 15th to June 4th. The overtime enforcement was made possible through a grant provided by the Nebraska Department of Highway Safety.

During the period Deputies had 191 contacts with the public. Those contacts resulted in five drivers being arrested for driving under the influence, one driver arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of medication without a prescription. A stolen handgun was recovered during a traffic stop.

Drivers were also given citations for the following offenses: thirty citations were issued for speeding, seven for expired registration, two for no insurance, three for possession of marijuana, two for no seatbelt, two for minor in possession of alcohol, one for obstruction, five for no operator’s license, one for procuring alcohol to minors, one stop sign and one for willful reckless driving. Deputies also assisted fourteen motorists on the roadways during this time.
